Gracious Australian musical goddess, Marcia Hines, has
been singing professionally for more than thirty year,
her first solo performance was at the tender age of seven.
Marcia first came to Australia (a place she'd never even
heard of!) from the US when she was just 16 years old,
after she scored a role in the radical musical "Hair".
From there, her career skyrocketed with eight multi-platinum
albums, eleven top ten hits making her enormously successful.
Previously voted the Queen of Pop, Marcia was Australia's
number one selling act for much of the 70s. Her popularity
surged again in the 90s and she is considered one of the
most successful recording artists this country has ever
seen.
Marcia brings a wealth of experience and energy to Australian
Idol and is looking forward to "watching the talent metamorphose
and grow".

Ian Dickson
Affectionately known as "Dicko", Ian Dickson has worked
in the international record industry for nearly twenty
years and is the former General Manager of Marketing for
major record label BMG Australia.
Dicko is a pom who now calls Australia home. He sounds
funny. He pronounces the "g" in "singing" … as in, "sing-ging"
and he fidgets a lot. But Ian has the serious task of
judging potential Australian Idols in terms of their singing
talent, image and very importantly their marketability
for an Australian and a worldwide audience.
His extensive range of experience includes strategising
major marketing campaigns for Natalie Imbruglia, Avril
Lavigne, Pink, Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters, Jamiroquai,
Pearl Jam, M People, The Eurythmics and John Farnham.
Dicko has been there, done that and he's got the t-shirt
to prove it.
He hopes to bring a "strong sense of commercial realism"
to Australian Idol and acknowledges that when the competition
ends his work just begins.
