Guy and Shannon have performed live in the final round
of live theme shows in Australian Idol. The remaining
two performed three songs each by artists of their choice
including Bryan Adams, Jimmy Barnes, Beyonce and Jackson
5 for the head-to-head show tonight. Top 12 finalists
were also in the audience to support the remaining two

Episode 30- 60's Result Show
Australian Idol- 60's Live
Result Show Monday November 3 at 7:30pm
Only Guy and Shannon are left after the top three contestants
were reduced to just two after popular contestant Cosima's
shock withdrawal from the series under extraordinary
circumstances in tonight's live results show. Hosts
Andrew G and James Mathison brought up each of the remaining
three contestants of which one would be eliminated tonight
and the other two progressing to the November 19 final.
After a tense moment, the hosts told Guy that he would
progress to the Grand Final, leaving Shannon and Cosima
contending for a position to join Guy. After the commercial
break, Cosima stepped forward and told the audience
that she had recently developed a throat problem and
due to the tough schedule of the coming weeks it was
with great regret that she had to withdraw from the
competition.
The shocked live audience and judges then gave Cosima
a standing ovation. Over the past few weeks the public
and judges have noticed her voice greatly deteriorating
and becoming very husky. She was not able to perform
her song from last night's show again, but promised
that with some rest she would be able to recover and
come back stronger than ever.

The remaining three finalists have performed live in
the seventh round of live theme shows in Australian
Idol. The contestants performed two songs each by artists
from the 1960's including Dusty Springfield, Frankie
Valli, the Beatles, Tina Turner among others for the
themed show on tonight. The Top 3 were accompanied by
a massive 27-piece band, consisting of back up singers,
trumpets, drums, harp, cello, piano and violins live
on stage, lead by John Foreman. Special guests Nikki
Webster and Idol Top 40 finalists Courtney Act were
also in the audience to support the remaining three

Only three Australian Idol finalists are left after
the Top 4 contestants were reduced to just three after
popular contestant Paulini was eliminated from the series
in tonight's live results show. Before the results were
announced, the Top 4 performed the together for the
last time. After the live performance, hosts Andrew
G and James Mathison named the two contestants, which
had the least amount of votes. They were Guy and Paulini,
of these contestants one would be eliminated tonight
and the other safe for another week.
The shocked judges, contestants and audience were then
told that the popular Fijian born performer Paulini
was the contestant to be eliminated tonight. The live
audience were able to show their appreciation to Paulini
while she performed 'At Last' from last night's themed
Big Band show again.

Band live on stage lead by John Foreman, featuring four
trumpets, five saxophones, four trombones, guitar, bass,
drums and piano. Special guests Kasey Chambers and Belinda
Emmett were also in the audience to support the remaining

show. Before the lines closed, the Top 6 performed "Don't
Stop Till You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson together
for the last time. After the live performance, hosts
Andrew G and James Mathison named the three contestants
which had the least amount of votes. They were Shannon,
Paulini and Levi, of these contestants one would be
eliminated tonight.
The emotional judges and contestants were then told
that Levi was the contestant to be eliminated tonight.
The judges were clearly surprised by the popular contestant's
elimination. The live audience were able to show their
appreciation to Levi while he performed 'Every Little
Step' from last night's themed show again with his brother.
Both Shannon and Paulini were lucky enough to have another
opportunity to perform in the next round.

The emotional contestants were then told that Kelly
was the first contestant eliminated from Australian
Idol tonight. After dodging a bullet over the past three
consecutive weeks 'rock chick' Kelly was finally eliminated
tonight. The live audience were able to show their appreciation
to Kelly while she performed her 'Killing Heidi' song
from last night's themed show again. The next contestant
who was told that she was eliminated was Rebekah, leaving
Levi with another opportunity to perform in the next
round. Rebekah was able to perform her emotional song
to the audience for one last time.

two after Cle and Lauren were eliminated from the series
after tonight's live results show. Before the lines
closed at 7:40pm, the Top 10 and the audience was treated
to a pre-recorded live performance of chart topping
hit "Miss Independent" by American Idol winner Kelly
Clarkson. The Top 10 also performed together, singing
"All Night Long". After the energetic live performance,
hosts Andrew and James named the contestants which had
the least amount of votes. They were Cle, Lauren and
Kelly.
The emotional contestants were then told that Cle was
the first contestant eliminated from Australian Idol
tonight. The live audience were able to show their appreciation
to Cle while she performed her song from last night's
themed show again. The next contestant who was told
that she was eliminated was Lauren, leaving Kelly with
another opportunity to perform in the next round. Lauren
was able to perform "Lady Marmalade" to the live and
TV audience for one last time with the help of Cle and
the other contestants after being overcome with emotion.
Kelly was again relieved to have made it through the
second round of eliminations, dodging another bullet.

their up-tempo first single from the forthcoming cast
album titled "Rise Up". The catchy tune will be the
first single from the upcoming album, which features
the recordings of the Top 12 finalist. After the performance
hosts Andrew and James named the contestants which had
the least amount of votes. They were 'rock chick' Kelly,
'shy' Matt and 'pig farmer' Peter.
The emotional contestants were then told that Matt was
eliminated followed by Peter. The live audience were
able to show their appreciation to Matt and Peter while
they each performed their song from last night's themed
show. Kelly was clearly relieved to have made it through

Episode 16- Judges Choice Result

Tonight three more contestants join the Australian Idol
Top 10 after tonight's live result show and a contestant
withdrawal. Three positions were left vacant for tonight's
wild card contestants after the shock withdrawal of
Australian Idol favourite Daniel Wakefield, who performed
on the first semi-final. Prior to auditioning for Idol,
Daniel was already signed to an independent management
company, which he did not tell the show's producers
about. He also signed with an independent record company
after he was selected for the Top 100. Both actions
directly contravene the rules of his contract. Daniel
has decided to relinquish his position in the finals
and allow his shoes to be filled by another contestant.
From the group of ten Wild Card contestants, two were
voted into the finials by the public and one contestant
voted in by the judges to make up the Australian Idol
Top 12. Cosima, Bek and Levi have join the other ten
contestants from the previous semi-finials. Hosts Andrew
G, broadcasting from the Studio, and James Mathison,
live from Idol HQ, firstly named the top three Wild
Card contestants voted by the judges - they were Cosima,
Bek and 'gender illusionist' Courtney Act. The three
judges decided to bring back Cosima believing that she
has grown greatly throughout the semi-finials.
The top three contestants on the night, voted by the
public, were then announced- with Bek, Levi and Courney
having the most phone and SMS votes. Australian Idol
viewers voted Bek into the Top 10 for her rendition
of "Shoop" and also voted for Levi's performance of
"Maria, Maria". Unfortunately, Courtney again missed
out on progressing to the finials after what can only
be described as a memorable performance last night.
The Australian Idol Top 12 will begin preparations for
the next round of the series which involves live performances
with a live band on themed shows. Each week the elimination
of one of the Top 12 will occur until two are left standing.
The finalists will begin live shows in front of a studio
audience at Sydney's Global Television Studios from
next Sunday. A new Australian Idol set is also under
construction and will be placed into the studio by next
week in time for the finals. A studio audience of 300-400
will also be present at the studio cheering on their
favourite Australian Idol. Tune in Sunday from 7:30-9:00pm
to see all the action from the next stage of Australian
Idol in what promises to be an energetic 70's themed
live show.

Wild Card Special Sunday September 14 at
7:30pm
Ten contestants who did not make it through to the final
were brought back to have another chance at progressing
to the next round to join the Top 10 contestants. Courtney
Act and Stu Campbell received entry to the special Wild
Card show last week. The other 8 Australian Idol Judge's
Choice contestants were announced in tonight's Wild
card episode. They are Bek, Levi, Eli, Rebecca, Cosima,
Axle, Yolande and Liban.
These performers were judged to have exceptional star
quality but were not able to progress to the final round
after missing out in the voting on the weekly semi-final
shows.
On the 90-minute special program, the 10 wild card contestants
all performed another song accompanied by a live band.

The top 10 contestants for Australian Idol have been
announced after tonight's live result show. Robert Mills
and Paulini Curuenavuli have join the other eight contestants
from the previous semi-finials to make up Australian
Idol's Top 10. Hosts Andrew G and James Mathison named
the top three contestants voted by the public since
the lines were open last night- they were Rob, Paulini
and 'gender illusionist' Courtney Act.
Australian Idol viewers voted Rob into the Top 10 for
his rendition of "Angels" and also voted for
Paulini's performance of "Somewhere". Unfortunately,
Courtney missed out however received a shock wild card
together with Stu Campbell for next week special Judge's
Choice wild card show.
Rob and Paulini make up the top 10 Australian Idol finalists.
Peter Ryan, Daniel Wakefield, Matt Chadwick, Kelly Cavuoto,
Shannon Noll, Guy Sebastian, Lauren Buckley, and Cle
will begin preparations for the next round of the series
which involves weekly live performances with a live
band on themed shows and the elimination of one of the
Top 10 each week. The finalists will begin live shows
in front of a studio audience at Sydney's Global Television
Studios from 21 September 2003, after the wild card
contestants have been named. A new Australian Idol set
is also under construction and will be placed into the
studio in a couple of weeks in time for the finals.

Congratulations to Lauren and Cle, the next two semi-finalist

Mathison named the top three contestants voted by the
public for Group 4- they were Levi, Lauren and Cle.
Australian Idol viewers voted Lauren into the Top 10
for her rendition of "Imagine" and also voted for Cle's
performance of "Come To Me". Unfortunately, Levi narrowly
miss out on a place in the Top 10.
Next Sunday, 7 September the final eight contestants
from the Top 40 will perform. They are Alex Longstaff,

Tonight's episode of Australian Idol was one of the
most controversial since the first episode went to air.
From the outset, the judges said they were unhappy with
the standard of the finalist from previous weeks, expressing
doubt that Australia's Idol would compare with American
Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and the British competition's
runner-up, Gareth Gates, both of whom have sold millions
of records around the world. In one of the most savage
assessments of the talent on the show by the panel of
three judges, Group 4's Michelle Cashman was reduced
to tears after performing Celine Dion's My Heart Will
Go On second up on the night. Almost all but two of
the eight contestants were criticised for their performance,
especially after the judges believed they needed to
"raise the bar" in order to find a true star.

Australia has again voted for the next two semi-finalist
to progress to the next round of Australian Idol after
tonight's live results show. Hosts Andrew G and James
Mathison named the top three contestants voted by the
public since the lines were open last night- they were
Guy, Shannon and Rebekah.
Australian Idol viewers voted Shannon into the Top 10
for his rendition of "Better Man" and also voted for
Guy's performance of "What A Wonderful World". Unfortunately,
Rebekah miss out however is almost certain to receive
a wild card from the three judges who through highly
of her performance from yesterday.

Episode 7- Group 2 Result
Australian Idol- Group 2 Live
Result Show Monday August 18 at 7:30pm
Australia has voted for the next two semi-finalist to
progress to the next round of Australian Idol after
tonight's live results show. Hosts Andrew G and James
Mathison named the top three contestants voted by the
public since the lines were open last night- they were
Matt, Kelly and Rebecca.
A nervous Matt Chadwick and 'rock chic' Kelly Cavuoto
were the two finalists from Group 2 named to progress
to the Top 10. Rebecca Tapia unfortunately missed out
with only a few hundred votes separating the top three
contestants on the night. Australian Idol viewers voted
for Kelly's rendition of "Bring Me To Life" and Matt's
performance of "Truly".
Next Sunday, 24 August eight more contestants from the
Top 40 will perform they are- Anthony Sumbati, Guy Sebastian,
Jennifer Pearl, Martine Robert, Rebekah LaVauney, Ryan
Sheppard, Shannon Noll and Yolande Jackson.

The second group in the semi-finals of Australian Idol
performed tonight. Following on from the success of
the first semi-final, this week's group of eight had
the task of continuing the momentum created from the
first group. Sidney Maynard, Marc Stockley, Rebecca
Tapia, Matt Chadwick, Kelly Cavuoto, Hailey Cramer,
Axle Whitehead, Cosima De Vito performed a song of their
choice to a national TV audience and to the three straight-talking
judges.

Episode 5- Group 1 Result
Australian Idol- Group 1 Live
Result Show Monday August 11 at 7:30pm
Peter and Daniel were the first two contestants to make
it to the Top 10. On tonight's Live result show,
host Andrew and James named the top three contestants
voted by the public over the last 24-hours, they were
Daniel, Eli and Peter. Of the three, Peter and Daniel
will progress to the Top 10. Peter Ryan's version of
Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" proved popular with
the voting public. While Daniel's performance of the
Rogers and Hammerstein classic, "You'll Never Walk Alone",
also proved popular with what Dicko called the G-force-
Grannies, Girlies and Gays.
Of week 2's group of eight semi-finalists--Sidney Maynard,
Marc Stockley, Rebecca Tapia, Matt Chadwick, Kelly Cavuoto,
Hailey Cramer, Axle Whitehead and Cosima De Vito, two
will be selected to join Peter and Daniel, the Top 10
finalists from Group 1.

The first group in the Semi-finals of Australian Idol
performed tonight. Shannon Thompson, Veronica Stewart,
Natalie Ferguson, Peter Ryan, Lorena Alegria, Daniel
Wakefield, Chelsea Gibson and Eli Diache all sang a
song of their choice which they believed demonstrated
their singing ability the best. Judges Marcia, Ian and
Mark then gave feedback on their individual performance
providing both criticism and suggestions. Here is list

Episode 2- From 75 to 40
Australian Idol- From the Top
75 to the Top 40 Sunday August 3 at 7:30pm
This week Australian Idol judges have to reduce the
numbers from 75 to 40. The 75 contestants were divided
into groups of three and had only overnight to learn
and perform Stevie Wonder's "For Once In My Life" for
the male contestants and Burt Bacharach's "I Say A Little
Prayer For You" for the females. While the contestants
were judged independently, teamwork and an ability to
work and integrate the performances were important feature
to determine who progressed to the Top 40. By the end
of the episode the Top 40 contestants were named and
they become one step closer to be named the Australian
Idol.

Episode 1- Australian Idol premiere
Australian Idol- The Premiere
Sunday July 27 at 7:30pm
Australian Idol is all about talent, performance and emotion.
The Australian Idol story begins with the nationwide auditions
held in capital cites. Throughout May and June, the Australian
Idol team of producers, judges and hosts scoured Australia
for outstanding talent. Beginning in Adelaide on May 28,
thousands of hopefuls auditioned and the Idol team were
handsomely rewarded with an enormous pool of potential
contestants, all vying for a place in the Idol history
books.
Overall, about twenty thousand people turned up for auditions
across five states. Seven and a half thousand took part
and from there, the top one hundred contestants from around
the country will go on to the next competition. By the
end of the first episode not only was the Top 100 contestants
from around Australia determined, but the numbers were
further reduced to the Top 75.
Next week find out which contestants will be named in
the Top 40.

Idol- The Phenomenon

This program introduced the Idol format to Australian
audiences and introduced the hosts for the series, Andrew
G and James Mathison. Idol- The Phenomenon showed
footage from various Idol programs from around the world
including Germany, Netherlands, USA and the UK. The program
detailing the success of Pop Idol in the UK and
American Idol, mentioning the media attention given
to Will Young and Garath Gates in the UK and how American
Idol was the highest-rated show on the US Fox network
with 22.8 million viewers. The program also displayed
details for Australian Idol auditions starting
with Adelaide on May 25.
