Inside Australian Idol forum poster "theofficialtop30"
has revealed an unconfirmed list of all the top 30 finalists
who will progress to the next round of Australian Idol.
The Top 30 Australian Idol 2 contestants were finalised
after nationwide auditions earlier last month and have
already been announced to the contestants after auditions
at the Seymour Centre.
Through what are believed to be sources close to family
and friends of the top 30 finalists, "theofficialtop30"
posted an "official" list of the top 30 finalists
as well as the performance groups in which they will perform
to be voted by TV audiences to the Top 10 later in the
series.

Speculation and hearsay on the Inside Australian Idol
forums suggest that a dramatic withdrawal from Maya McClean
may occur when the top 30 is announced next week. One
half of twin duo Maya McClean progressed to the top 118
while sister Nandy failed to impress the judges earlier
this series. Rumour has it that Maya McClean is set to
make a dramatic withdrawal from the contest citing the
separation from her twin sister as her main motivation.
However, "GrrlCanMove" has posted the
following on the forum:
"….I know a lot of this show is controlled,
but it is not determined who wins. For example, my friend
Maya [McClean] who got through to the top 30. (she was
from sydney, the twin who got through). Anyway she just
dropped out of the contest and they made her sign a confidentiality
agreement where she can only say that the reason she left
the comp was because she didnt want to leave her sister,
but the real reason is, she just got a part in the Lion
King musical.
So my point is, its obviously manipulated, but [the Australian
Idol contest is] not fixed."
Viewers may also recall that the McClean twins also made
a pact to stay together on the second series of Channel
Seven talent program "Popstars".
There is more Top 30 speculation from forum members after
the top 118 Australian Idol 2 contestants were finalised
after nationwide auditions. With the top 30 contestants
having already been announced last month after auditions
at the Seymour Centre, forum members have speculated on
who they know, through sources close to family and friends
of the top 30 finalists, or think will progress to the
next round.
